Roberto this is off-topic but in my opinion you are the best poster of HairLossTalk.com. Your posts are brief, yet they have this mournful, elegiac quality to them. Crystallized nuggets of nostalgic sadness.
Bullshit!

Last year I went to a wedding and felt like sh*t knowing that I would have looked better with decent hair. I still catch family looking at my rats nest from time to time. It's my rats nest, I wish people would just leave it alone Dammit!

Bulshit. Women blame people for being ugly. I know this quite well.

Next time she starts saying things like that, ask for a blowjob. At least she won't go around saying stupid sh*t and she'll put her mouth to good use, for once.

I think Chinese people hold the weirdest beliefs when it comes to balding. A friend who suffers from yellow fever told me that many women in China think baldness is caused by bad hygiene or brace yourself, "a curse because you've not been a good person".
Some of these women had a master's degree. Mind-numbing.

It's called cultural beliefs! And they are the new religion. Get on board or go swimming!

Funny, yesterday, my girlfriend said to me: "You know I don't blame you for your hair loss."

I was like: "Well the opposite would be quite weird."

She clarified and said she didn't blame me for having suffered from it.

First thing she said when I told her was: "Well, if I went bald in my early 20's, I would have reacted the same". Wise answer.

I work with a lot of Japanese people and get the impression they hold also superstitious thoughts towards baldness. Culturally they seem quite different to Chinese people but united with the world in embracing irrational dislike towards it.

Actually it would make me wary of ever getting serious with a native Asian woman, outside of last chance saloon of Thai poverty when I'm middle aged fat NW6.

This is actually quite a big fear of mine. I live interstate so I don't see relatives and old friends much and I can dodge most events. But if my sister gets married or something I'll have no excuse basically and have to endure some dickhead snapping photos all day amongst nw1s

ah japanese arent that big on irrational superstition (and are almost all atheist for that matter). there are tons of bald guys in japan, maybe in part because minoxidil is very expensive there.

my right temple looks "fine"... my left literally has NO native hair, and like 50 thick 2-3 unit transplants sticking out at different angles. fact. I violently comb it forward and cover the scalp in dermmatch to hide it.

Just show a scalp picture. Nobody will comment on facial looks.

Worse case, it's not as bad as you think.

Do you think people are going to bald shame you here? I don't think so.

Do some Japanese people have curly hair? I heard a myth about that, is it true?

Sorry I didn't mean necessarily superstitious, but naturally irrationally wary of baldness, not that there's a huge meaning they think about it other than subconscious thought.

Also because Japanese people consistently look so young, I mean f***, half the 30 year old+ girls could pass for 22, most of the guys you can shave at least 3-5 years off their age. So when a white guy, who already looks older by Japanese standards, also has thinning hair, he's f*****g ancient, even the 30 year old chicks look young as f*** so do they want to be seen with a guy who, by their standards, is a f*****g dinosaur?

That's really the main thing, not superstition, not even just ugliness (but that's also important) but the huge ageing that baldness gives to a white guy from the view of Japanese people.

Also do you have any studies on baldness per capita in Japan? I've heard it's the most bald Asian country, but still way way behind lots of Western ones. And from personal experience any Japanese guy I've seen has been NW1 and dense as well.

Japanese people go bald because minoxidil is too expensive there? Really?!

no genius, japanese people probably use minoxidil less than others because its so expensive, and perhaps that contributes to their having less coverage up top. whats hard to grasp about that? why do people use minoxidil if not to help keep hair over bald spots etc?

Minoxidil alone is extremely limited, at best it will slow down your hair loss for a year, meaning you'll lose it twice as slow, but not much more than that.

So you understand why saying "Japanese people go bald because minoxidil is expensive!" is a stupid statement, they would go bald even with the minoxidil.

I've been using it for 2 years and am above baseline, so that disproves your first statement. Sure, for people who have very aggressive early baldness like yourself that won't be the case, but everyone is not you. minoxidil could work for your balding middle-aged salaryman for a while, if he were able to afford it.

I didn't say "Japanese people go bald because minoxidil is expensive!", so your second statement is also false. What I said was, "maybe in part". And that's exactly right. If few people are using minoxidil because of how pricey it is, then maybe in part it contributes to people having less coverage up top. And I didn't say it but I'm guessing that finasteride isn't used as much as it is in the west either. Not necessarily because of the price but due to an aversion to medication.
