I am a very dense Norwood 1.5 and i hopped on finasteride about a month and a half ago bc i’m honestly vain, and will probably end up at a NW2 if I don’t do anything. and i thought my choice was a little suspect. i am allllll for everyone making their own choices, as long as they arnt hurting anyone. but dude. you are 17. i feel like a 17 year old’s parents should still be involved in their descsion making process. like if you get f*cked up are you gonna blame them for letting you do this? you gotta think logically, that there is no way you are gonna be able to stay on this regimine for more then like 2 years! you’ll probably have to stop fairly quickly, so what’s the point of risking damage? just stick to duta and get a hair transplant or something man

The internet has crazy confirmation bias. i mean guys the reason this behavior seems normal to people on forums is because 99.9% of the united states probably is not writing on any kind of forum. these platforms are useful, but they attract hypochondriacs and people with ocd / bdd. there is nothing wrong that that all all either. but all i’m saying is, i think the last time someone with bdd or a hypochondriac should be speaking to, is another person with that same anxiety disorder. it makes the irrational and illogical thought process seem normal and justified.

i’m one of the people who think that both finasteride and min are both harmless. i just don’t like taking any medicine . but i still don’t know what your current regimine is, like what did you take this morning lmao

sides are def super rare but i went to a NYC derm for my finasteride, and he’s prescribed over 10,000 people finasteride in the years he’s been practicing. he said out of all those people 12 got PFS, and 10 of those people had diagnosed obsessive compulsive disorder. that’s honestly eye opening. not trying to underplay it AT ALL. but almost all of his patience who ever got Pfs had diagnosed ocd. he said he makes people with ocd get approved by a psychologist to take the medicine, and he personally doesn’t think it’s real. i’m just the messenger - i honestly don’t know, and do feel bad from anyone suffering regardless. but just something interesting

Being 17 is the problem. Imagine you are 18 and bald. 99% of other 18 year old boys are not bald. Thats why he opted for powerful regimens.

i have a close friend who was completely bald by 19 and had to shave his head. he’s completely fine with it. i’m not even suggesting he not take anything. but the current regimine is way over the top and not sustainable , and if THOSE are his pics that the other member posted, then the only thing he needs is a physiologist

If you check my pics, you would tell me the same. Pics dont show diffuse thinners until they had big losses. I noticed it relatively early, but the hair on top of my head is much much thinner and lays flat.
