I like how everyone believes the OP and no one is doubting him

Is there a reason why we should be doubting him?

what the f***? why would we doubt him? he's provided genuine pictures on more than one occasion. he still comes back after 2+ years to give advice and hope to people on this board. i know this because i still send him PM's from time to time and he responds in a quick manner and effectively answers questions. we usually don't have people who have success come back and post, yet he does....

please give us a reason why you think we should doubt him?

Hey SE Freak again,

I wanted to ask you something. I added scalp exercises to my regimen(I am 2 weeks on them). After 2 weeks of doing them, a small horizontal wrinkle that I had on my forehead before doing exercises has become bigger. I am doing right the s.exercises(as described) and I am putting baby oil(mineral oil) on my forehead, so I can't understand why the wrinkle became bigger.
Is this because I am doing them quickly? Have you experienced any similar problem with wrinkles?

Thanks
Chris

I mean :
Is it because I am doing the scalp exercises fast?(sorry for the spelling in the previous post)

I am doing them 15 minutes twice a day.

Thanks again

neis:

I have been doing the SE for a long time now and my face is wrinkle free (I am 30yo). If you have gained control of the occipitalis muscles and you do contract them after contracting the frontalis muscle (they are antagonistic muscles frontalis-occipitalis), I believe that as those stubborn muscles gain strength your forehead will clear up.

If you are contracting your forehead muscle only though, it is very logical that you get wrinkles.

Wow, amazing results AND you stayed to help your follicle challenged brothers! Much props man. I'm on pretty much the same regimen. I haven't really gained back like you but I've maintained. Diffuse loss maybe a NW1 here.

I've done SE off and on for a few years, but now I think I'll give it another chance. I usually do them in my spare time, like when I'm watching TV or something. On Tom's site he mentions a burn feeling. I never seem to do it until I get my scalp tired, do you? Maybe I need to do it longer or up the intensity? How much time do you think you SE every day?

Anyway, thanks again for staying with us.

This always gives me the burn. Note that the SE is not proven to promote hair growth and it's up to you to decide how much time you want to invest. I personally overdo it though, I am the SE-freak, aren't I?

"Us" includes me btw. ;)

Nice results man.

Maybe I am just naive, but what exactly is SE?

SE = Scalp Exercises

oops! I missed your post. Yes, as Petchsky said, SE stands for Tom Hagerty's Scalp Exercise.

SE, I have question on shedding as I am shedding like crazy right now and I am starting to think I am losing ground... Anyway, I'm coming up to 6 months now and my shedding started at month 5 and its been one month now of crazy shedding and I mean a lot of hair every time I touch my hair - I'm starting to feel a bit sick thinking about it... Ok, so is this normal? Did you experience anything like that around month 5? Help?!
Cheers

Let me put it this way: With results as impressive as yours that early, given that you keep the original regimen (your personal experiment cocktail of dutasteride+finasteride... ) unchanged I find it highly unlikely that you will lose ground before the 2 year mark.

Ok well I hope so... Am I wasting my time with the dutasteride and finasteride combo? Shall I drop the dutasteride and keep it as a back up if I ever need it?

Re: 32 months on the big 3 and counting... (32month pics update)

mj:

It is a very personal choice how one initially defines his regimen strategy and when he chooses to change it. I chose to "go with the flow", the flow being the massively conducted ( biased maybe? who knows- it has happened before) pharmaceutical trials. My logic was that specific substances that led to regrowth in the majority of people participating had a good chance of working for me too.

As I see it, one can go for an all-out war. Play all the heavy guns, throwing knives-missiles-rocks all at the same time. This seems to have serious advantages and serious disadvantages. I see people with two-page regimens, I bet these dudes feel good for doing the "best they can" in their minds. Peace of mind... It couldnt hurt, it might work, lets play all our cards nomatter how likely or proven it is they will work. Serious disadvantages? yes there are.1) Safety. Is the combination of those drugs (let alone that dutasteride did not came out as a hairloss treatment officially) safe for you? Is their effectiveness in inhibiting enzymes simply additive? I don't have a shred of knowledge to answer any of these. dutasteride blocks both types, finasteride blocks one. So what is the logic behind deciding on using both instead of using more dutasteride, more finasteride or more of both? 2)Difficulty in attributing effectiveness, forcing you to carry a bunch of vitamins/drugs/topicals, being afraid that if you cut something out, it could be the key to your success till now. 3) Difficulty in fitting your regimen routine into your daily program. A complicated regimen is a regimen that is trickier to comply with and stay on consistently. In your case its just one more pill pop. (Fortunately) 4)Nowhere to run to. If a regimen that includes every available treatment starts to fail, what are your options?

To end my rumbling, when you have started on a regimen and it has given fruits, it is a risk to modify it. I cannot offer any input on what would be best, my concerns are merely regarding your safety in the long term. Honestly. That said, I am leaning towards the "don't touch a thing" approach. You have had impressive results and your hair will keep improving too, just make sure that you support your choices-even those already made, with personal research that goes beyond "I saw a guy that used dutasteride and finasteride and had regrowth" type of arguments.

You've said that you applied Rogaine not only to the top of your head(vertex) but also to the front. Did you use TWO applications of 1.0mL each, or, did you just spilt one application of 1.0mL between the vertex and the front of your scalp?

1.0mL = The line on the eye dropper that you're supposed to fill to.

I use one squirt on each temple and four squirts back. It is the recommended dosage of 1ml per application eventually. Twice daily.
