If they were true friends, then they would know about your anguish, and would fully support any lengths you would go to,too ease/solve your suffering.

True freinds are no problem anyway but baldness would be far easier to deal with if thats all you have to worry about. The problem though is all the other people you have no choice but to deal with your co-workers, neighbours, ex freinds and girlfreinds(?!) You have to be prepared for their reactions/opinions aswell.

And if you say "well I dont care about what others think" then why does baldness bother you so much?

I am more bothered about what I think of myself more than what people think.I am the one who has too live with ME everyday.
As mentioned at least 90% of people think I am a bag of sick(without opening my mouth).Anyway no matter what one does, you can never please everybody,so why even try...

Maybe if they take the advice of loads on here, i.e. beef yourself up, big testosterone-rich muscles, etc. Well TBH any of those type of men, even with hair, I'd think why on Earth in this day and age do you need to be like that? Surely they are just wasting energy, resources (food), time..? They must be insecure about something? Fear?

To attract women.

Most women though aren't attracted to the sterotypical steriod taking gym goer, and neither should they be.

True but alot of men get insecure comparing themselves to those bodybuilding types.

Yeah, but going to the gym and putting some muscle on is far away from going to the extreme and being a steroid-er.

Even for the sterotypical steriod-er balder, yeah, many women will not be attracted, but some will. These women are the ones being targeted. And a lot of the women are attracted to muscles.

Physically, what other option do we have?
The "cute" boyish look does not suit baldies. "Badass" is the only positive stereotype left.

i was always under the impression that shaved head would attract even more negative attention than horseshoe? :dunno:

a lot of the older folk find shaved heads odd.

As mentioned I look like stone cold s.austin, thus I have the "badass" image(not that I court it,this is the best I can look given the circumstances).Trust me,no-one is impressed, nor should they be.It is a look borne out of limited options as opposed too a consious choice. ps.Before anyone says I can always have another style,I have had the clean shaven, and horseshoe look,TBF its not the best look for ME.

I wonder what HPM's stance on men with grown out horseshoes is? He seems to admire them more than shavers based on some purist principle that he contradicts with every fiber of his being.

i think i mentioend it before but i really respect a young 20 something true bald man that has the guts to show the horshoe ring of death

this is what true baldness always has been, i have little admiration for the fully bald people, there mearly "bald tourists" that are not facing the true badlism discrimination.

there afraid of society harse judgements on them, and instead wear baldness as a fasion statement, how nice it is for them to feel safe and comfortable in their PC balding mans world.

i wonder what there stance woudl be if it was the 80s!

Hats not doubt, living in fear likely, probably wearing hairpieces to!

HPM,theres a flip side too your theory of a fully bald man who shaves not facing the harsh reality of baldness.Society as a whole doesn't like people who are fully sly(trust me,I know this,as I have shaved since I was 24).Thus you could you say persons such as I are fully embracing male pattern baldness by NOT conforming too societies desire of how the masses expect one too look when bald.
Anyhow, how can you judge a person who chooses too shave as hiding away from baldness when you are performing the ultimate hide-away by wanting too fit in,and wearing a false piece of garment on top pf your head....

That's why I am never going to go fully sly. I am going to buzz with no guard with a little stubble.

HPM,you are quite a sad individual, devoid it seems of any real resolve and backbone. You are letting society win by conforming too their whims, you know when you have reached the bottom of the barrel when one has too validate their whole mindset and exsistence based on the needs/opinions/wishes of other people....(people as a whole who don't really give two f**ks about you in the first place).

Is it just me or are we balding guys at war with society? The way opeople talk here you would think the world is made up of members of society and balding guys--two separate groups. We are part of society. I feel as if I'm part of society. We are a majority among men--most men have some hair loss.

how is he letting society win? if he tricks the society into thinking he's normal it's quite the opposite - he wins.

i'd wear a wig. not because i care about society and conforming. but to protect myself from society.

He is letting society win by giving society what they want and expect of someone,ie a man with hair.Society doesn't like people who shave(for whatever reason),it is not deemed as "normal"(whatever that means in todays world). Therefore someone like myself walking around who is sly is going against the grain of what society demands from me,a full set of hair(which obviously I can't have),or looking somewhat socially acceptable, and less intimidating by having SOME hair(even though it is only at the back and sides).
At the end of the day,HPM might be able too kid society, but he is not kidding himself.
