I feel everyone is consuming too much media?

Does anyone else feel everyone is reading/watching the news more lately?

It seems like every wanker is a political activist on facebook.

You are kind of doing what David does that annoys the living f*** out of me.

You assume i read this somewhere and i am parroting.

Here the weekly political debate on TV is about how racist we are and how we should allow Muslim women to wear hijabs all the time. I'm not even kidding, this comes before unemployment and the state of our economy, and people are f*****g sick of it.
Well, this sounds like a legitimate debate to me.

Also... those Muslim women should be allowed to wear the hijab everywhere.
Especially in swimming pools.
I mean... I can understand how they don't want the likes of a Fred and his fellow perverted country men checking them out every minute.

Some of those middle eastern women are quite fetching.

Yesterday, I realized that my city (Brussels) has become a huge garbage bin because of these muzzy refugees, practically, they are everywhere with their mattresses, looking at you like they're going to mug you in the next second, it stinks, it's an eyesore, sometimes you'll trip on the garbage that they throw everywhere.

"It's another culture you see, where they come from, they don't have garbage bins!"

The media refuse to talk about it but they rape our women, they infiltrate swimming pools to masturbate on underage girls, the media may not be willing to talk about it (because it would exacerbate the racism of the population of course), but we know, the Dutch and the French know too, and I'm a believer that they'll vote accordingly at their upcoming elections.

Just like I believe the American people voted accordingly. Yes it's Trump, and yes he's out of control sometimes, but what was the alternative? There was none. At least he's doing something, despite his peculiar style.

All that to say that yes, I blame foreigners for the low standards of living that we have in the big cities of Europe. These people are trash, like to live in trash, have a trash mentality (Islam and all it entails), and ultimately, they want us to become trash just like them.

Yep, I've really been traumatized by the amount of trash I saw.

I guess it's the consequence of the French government dismantling the Jungle of Calais:

Filthy people.

Tim Pool is going around Sweden and other critical places in Europe to check the refugee situation to see if it's as bad as people say, as suspected the swedes are affraid to talk to him, send him a message so he knows what spots to check when he comes to Belgium.

It's not but it was going to be if people voted for Hillary.

Trump is willing to stop mass Muslim immigration and I guess you don't realize how crucial that is.

Since you don't have a refugee crisis in the US, I don't think that they have major real problems.

They can actually concentrate on their problems right now without having to tackle the kind of crisis we have here.

You really need to interact with those muzzy Muslims to understand.

I think you are unaware of just how bad Bannon and Trump are for domestic issues.

They want dismantle or cripple a lot of things that most Americans actually care about.

there is no fight..

I just think it silly to dismiss someone who has actually lived for 45 years in a country that you guys just read about and watch on media.
Ah, its cool, our political thoughts are meaningless and will not make a difference.

Oh, so then why is anyone even posting if thats the case?
Why do people watch shitty Netflix shows? Why do people play computer games for hours at end?

People love to shoot the sh*t and waste time.

Imagine all the folks who worried about the Cuban missile crisis or the oil crisis in the 70s - it seems hilarious now, but imagine all those people who genuinely let it interfere with their lives because they were worried about something that they could not control.

People who want the government the enforce a dress code are the worst. f*** off, I'll wear what I damn please.

Well if you are going to waste your time at least do it having fun - have sex, travel, go for a long walk, create art - rather than fretting whether Trump will build a wall.
so those are the only unproductive things worth doing eh? i say

do what you wanna do for fun. i have "refined" taste usually but i wont fault anyone for listening to bieber and watching the kardashians. i'll judge their personalities but i wont claim its worthless. to me it maybe but not to them

@JohnsonDDG ,

There are plenty of goods to discussing current events, it makes you a better citizen, and in my case, it's largely how I learned to speak English properly.

That said I do feel like a failure when I engage in the political discussions here. They're typically not conducted at a high level, due to the low number of posters, as well as some posters not knowing very much. It's not a great investment of time.

I should be reading and occasionally commenting at more elite communities, where I'm being challenged. I've interacted with people online, whereby nearly everytime I argue with them I find myself humbled quickly. They're sharp enough to make me change my mind on things, due to their knowledge, their ability to reason and communicate. Those are the people I should read.

A notable exception here are the posters who tell me about life in Europe or the Middle East, I do learn something there.

I genuinely feel you would be wiser if you spent those hours on your career and your own niche area of expertise then you would studying politics.

Side note: I thought you were Canadian. Why would you need to learn English?

My mother tongue is French.

My English took off around age 12, when I started reading the news. It took about six years for me to go from being below average, to average, to somewhat above average.

During the weekend, I would go to the library and voraciously devouring news sources. That's the type of learning that can't happen due to homework. It happened because I was interested.

Whether Trump is corrupt or not - how does you knowing this alter any one thing?

People on social media are fixated with politics - a lot of it is arm chair activism and virtue signalling, of course - and I see friends becoming divided over these abstract matters. I'm also seeing people quit facebook because they are sick of it becoming so serious.
