Are you seeing any change to your existing hair? Ive already noticed that my hair is a lot stronger, thicker and easier to style comparing to prior laser. i say this lightly tho and it's only 2 weeks in... I may still experience the common shed to come?
strange - some people see results in as little as 2 weeks - whilst others struggle to see any at all....

Its impossible to see results in two weeks. Its all thanks to the placebo effect.

I don't really notice much at all to be honest. I keep it short(#2 clipper) so not sure if it is making much of a difference on my existing hair. It might be who knows? My main reason for using LLLT was trying to regrow lost hair, which at this point I see very little(if any) improvement. I check every time I look in the mirror so I guess it would really be hard for me to tell. I will compare with pics in about another month. Last time I thought I was making improvement then compared pics and saw little to no change. I was pissed.

I'm nowhere near as what I would consider as my ideal results. I'm only reporting the effect that laser has had for me so far, which I can say it's more or less been a positive intro.

I also did my research and I am going to try out the laser as well - no mukking around with any small thing - I'll buy the top gun. I'll post my pics when I start and will post again in 3 months or so. No finasteride or stuff like that, only minoxidil, I am pretty old so I will not bother with DHT blocking too much...my childhood dream may come true...my other dream was to fly a helicopter - never made that one...

What dream was that?

Hmmm then good luck bro.
I've been on the big 3 for over a decade, so for me trying laser as possibly a last resort gives me something to keep on soldier on.
I would never have contemplated laser as a lone wolf approach.
No finasteride, no hope coming from my personal experience.

first dram full head of hair, second dream helicopter

What dream was that?
actually helicopter was my first "teenage dream" - that's when I noticed my hair loss - having hair became my second dream. For some reason it didn't break my spirit as I was never a beautiful guy anyway and chicks never looked me, with or without hair.....in this sense I never lost anything... If only I knew than what I know now.... :-D dream of flying a helicopter is still on...bitterly regret my eyesight will never let me pilot one (I'm glad I still hold a drivers licence - by a thread)....at least I managed to fly a hang glider - and survived crash landing without a scratch - twice! women (=and sex) is not the top of the World...they are only a very expensive male hobby....Can you imagine how much energy, strength, time and money you would save if you ditched them once and for all? I think an ugly woman has it worse than an ugly man...thank God I am a man ! - - - Updated - - -
die with a full head of hair?
and why not? - my body will burn faster.....saving the energy....

azuri, how short do you keep your hair? I buzz mine every week with a #2 clipper. I figured it was a good idea to do this while using laser.

I buzz # 2 on top, # 1 on the sides every 2-3 weeks. Usually by a week or so my hair is difficult to style and use too much product in doing so. Now I'm finding it slightly more manageable since starting laser.

Now, how about if we go back to discuss specific results. As a researcher myself (not related to the field of hair loss) I feel we need to focus on the published results. In the paper http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40257-013-0060-6 what do you think of the reported increase of density? (figure 2-c and 2-d page 122) It is around 20 hairs/cm^2 thoughts?
I read through this clinical trial - and understand that rate of hair regrowth is directly linked to the number of laser diodes in the LLLT device you are using. I ordered my machine with over 250 lasers - FDA approved or not - let's see what it does for my hair.

LLLT experiment

I got my laser machine. It looks impressive with over 250 laser diodes. Still need to set it up and take "before" pics, and learn how to upload them. Looking forward to this experiment... I am using custom made 5% Minoxidil prepared in my local pharmacy. It is a bit more "oily" but it does not contain poisonous PPG like Rogaine and most other brands. In my view PPG negates all what minoxidil does for our hair.

PPG still is something you don't want to put on your head everyday

Then how have millions grown hair using minoxidil?
Negation of PPG may be not a full 100% - maybe only 90% or even a bit less.. :) but PPG still is something you don't want to put on your head.... - if there is an alternative, anyway...anything you apply on your skin gets into your blood stream...

6 months of LLLT

I already added before and after pics I believe to this thread, if you haven't seen them you haven't missed much. Little to no noticeable change. At the end of the year I will be at 6 months. I will take pics and compare, if I see anything positive I will post pics. I have been going back and forth whether or not to throw in the towel if no results by 6 months, but I am considering giving it a bit more time. At this point it is just 20 minutes out of my day so it is not a huge deal to continue. I would rather give LLLT a solid opportunity to work before calling it useless.
Hey Notcool... any progress after your 6 months of LLLT? It should be seen by now. Unless you are one of the 17% for who LLLT does not work.. :-(

To be honest I don't think it made much of a difference at all. I was consistent with treatment also. Never missed a day, even while on vacation. I am still using LLLT, but will probably throw in the towel soon. Glad I gave it a try though.

So i can get drunk while using it??
Anyways can you tell me if your homemade minoxidil gives you dry hair or itchy scalp?I had them and i had to quit and i regret it coz i was starting to see some growth on my temples

It is always good to try - just for the peace of mind you tried everything there is.. .maybe, just maybe - halting your hairloss was a result of using LLLT? When you stop LLLT and if your hair starts going worse - then you can judge whether LLLT did something....but again, all statistics give LLLT around 83% success rate for guys.. Anyway, good luck with your hair and fight with male pattern baldness....

So far I am happy with what I am trying, feel in the scalp is great, most important is that it does not feel oily at all - I already threw out the unused bottles of Rogain , never go back to that ****ee...full of PPG... I think any minoxidil with PPG is 2 steps forward and 1 step back....maybe 1.5 steps back..
