If full Head of Hair can't make all Tom Cruise, why expect bald to be Vin Diesel.

Have anyone went to Quora page and searched about baldness, there and every where in this world people say just shave your head,
and give examples of Vin Diesel,Jason,Rock,LEX from superman,Patrick stewart and tell us how sexy and dashing they look.

I want to know if you had full head of hair,do everyone look like Tom Cruise,Bradd Pitt,RDJ Chris evans,no.

Then why you expect us to look like this bald heroes.

All girls say don't do comb over,it looks ugly, why.Do you don't have guts to say your baldness looks ugly.
Why hate comb overs, let the bald be like what he wants to be,why teach him to do this,do that.
Why ask him to shave the head, that clearly means you want to him look better than what he is,there is superficiality in even this advice.
I am having horse shoe pattern hair and i am not doing anything to change it,why you advice me to buzz cut so that it look better or shall i say you want me to look better by any manner.
Isn't this better telling a baldie to look as he wants to be,not expecting anything extra from me.

When my ex gf proposed me,she said i had enough hair, nothing more need to be done.

When I was liking one girl(crush whom i loved too much),she knew i was bald but when she use to see me with facial hairs, she did not like that.

Why i need to grow facial hair if i am Bald, just to look good, that means i am still superficial even if i lost many hairs,
i want people to accept me as it is, besides Girls this days know that those who had facial hair are those who may not had awesome facial aesthetics so they are counter balancing this by growing beard.
Beards are used by the 20 % body fat level people more than those at 10-15% level.

I think If people had problem with comb over, horse shoe this clearly means they did not like my baldness,
I think taht shaved head people are those people who have in them an urge to look beautiful even if they lost hair,to look trendy and not to accept there condition of hairloss like it is

Hair loss is a superficial issue in and of itself, so I don't really get what you're trying to say here. I personally don't even think being superficial is necessarily a bad thing. It's a double edged sword: you have people who are superficial who look down on others for there appearance, and then you have people like you who look down upon superficial people. There's always a healthy medium of wanting to look good without being a dick about it.

In any case it's just a matter of preference so I don't see what the big deal is if people would rather shave/buzz their hair than have a horseshoe. you're literally mad over someone else's choice in hair style, lol.

Good post, where can I see that transformation from being a NW5 to a NW1.5?

Baldness is a lost of identity, some people can't even look in the mirror any more because they don't recognise the person staring back at them. IT is much worse than purely superficial or being attractive. Your hair is part of you.

Its not a preference, some people do not accept there real position and goes to such extend that it is unbearable for other people,
like goatee.. using fancy big specs, growing large beard that is not liked by large no of girls, also in education and professional world.

Shaving head is clearly not liked by many many people, accepting baldness means accepting hairloss,it not doing something fancy to look better by wierd things.

I have a fiend who had shaved head, when we attended a marriage function, many people told me that why this man shaved his head.He was so badly mocked, even insulted by saying...

"Saare Baal to udd gaye, phir bhi acche dikhne ki tammana nahi gayi"

Means a pun saying..
"All hair have flown away, still his wanting to look better hasn't gone"

i know what you mean OP, people definitely become irrational in their advice to us balding guys. it doesnt make sense when they mention the super good looking actors when it comes to baldness, they were attractive anyways.

thats a good analogy to make, that if we were jason statham just from buzzing it then the full head verison wud also be true, that full head guys are all of a sudden tom cruise if they grow their hair long

i think people get irrational when it comes to baldness because there's really no solution to it and it significantly reduces your attractiveness which in turn reduces your quality of life. when people think about baldness it reminds them that there are

1. some problems with no solution
2. attractiveness is important

i think people go denial mode and in turn comes that irrationality

i dont look down on superficial people, but the trait itself. its ofc wrong to be superficial 0_0. you say yourself there needs to be a medium

but yes i do think its just preference and we shud let people be

The problem with using the four same actors that are always mentioned is that they are famous and wealthy.
If vin deisel was your local garbage man no woman would bat an eye at him.
If Patrick Stewert was an accountant he would be married to some homely woman with 3 kids (who were prob not his).
The thing is These guys play action oriented characters and people generalize these roles as their real personalities.
Ill say the Rock is a good looking guy but if he was 5-6, would he still be as dashing? Prob not, so his height is a major advantage there. The guy is 6-5 and like 350 lbs of pure muscle. If youre bald and under 6' then you are pretty much screwed, your are comic relief. Or you could just become famous.......
Maybe people say this to try and make the best of a bad situation more than saying youll become The rock instantly.

being superficial is not bad, it just is what it is. Ex you prefer a VERY specific type of girl physically, isnt that a bit superficial? We are all superficial, we are all vain, or our hairloss wouldn't bother us, we wouldnt be HERE. Superficial is also relative to the person. As long as you arent going out of your way to put someone down then its healthy.

To me baldness bothers men and women differently.
Women are just not on average attracted to it physically because of the stigma it presents
Men are afraid "this could happen to me"

Sorry, I don't post pictures on this forum anymore. Too many users here are blatantly disrespectful/flat out mean to me because of my trans status as it is, posting pictures only fuels that fire. My thread had like 20k views before I deleted it though so I'm sure many people can vouch for my incredibly recovery.

Being superficial is not inherently wrong. You care about your hair loss (you wouldn't be here otherwise), therefore you're superficial on some level. but I'm sure you don't think you're being unreasonable about worrying about your hair loss, because you're not. It's perfectly fine to be superficial, it's when it is taken to extremes that it is bad. No one likes that person who always has some judgmental crap to say about someone else's appearance - that would be an example of being overly superficial. To be fair though, the person in the example probably has more personality issues than just them being superficial, thus the superficialness itself is not the issue, just a symptom of it.

I think we are both on the same page. I think we're just using different words to explain the same thing.

I've never understood the hype of Vin Diesel being a good role model for bald and balding men. I never found it appealing and looked like any ordinary man who worked out when he was in shape.

I was watching the movie High Fidelity and thought, this is how the average young bald man looks like:

Yet ignorant fullheaded morons would still tell that guy: "Look at Vin Diesel, he's doing good, why don't you start lifting?!"

Because lifting will save that guy, and he will totally look like Vin Diesel at a point. As if Vin Diesel was a good role model for bald men anyway.

lol maybe a lil lifting wouldnt "hurt" that guy

yep. you hit the nail on the head. my preferences are superficial, i can't deny that. its wrong and i do feel a bit guilty about it. as larry david said, its funny how us baldies lose our looks yet have the same standards. but i feel i dont put undue importance on looks, i'm just fapping after all. all that matters in p**rn is looks lol

You don't know that... what if he tried lifting 100kg only to drop it on his head and break his spine. That'd "hurt" him for sure.

Anyway, as has always been said; bald will always be bald. If he didn't need to lift before, he shouldn't need to lift now.

Working out would dramatically improve his appearance actually. No, it wouldn't be the same as being a NW0. But it would for sure help. He's scrawny as hell and would still be unattractive because of that even if he had hair. His poor posture and just general look/demeanor of insecurity isn't helping either

He did need to lift before his hair loss though. He's got no muscle mass at all. I've probably got more mass than him and I haven't lifted in over a year, have been on an aggressive cut/diet (-60lbs since January), and have had estrogen running through my veins for the last 8 months almost. Anyone who looks like that is going to have trouble with women regardless of if they're NW0 or NW7. Less trouble as a NW0 than as a NW7, admittedly, but simply having hair would not salvage that man's appearance to many/most women methinks.

It's even more foolish when you know research has shown women look for unalterable traits in males: height, natural frame, hair, bone structure.

Actually, as you know, research shows precisely the opposite.

Rating attractiveness: study finds consensus among men, not women

June 25, 2009

Hot or not? Men agree on the answer. Women not so much.
There is much more consensus among men about whom they find attractive than there is among women, according to a new study by Wake Forest University psychologist Dustin Wood.
The study, co-authored by Claudia Brumbaugh of Queens College, appears in the June issue of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
“Men agree a lot more about who they find attractive and unattractive than women agree about who they find attractive and unattractive,â€￾ says Wood, assistant professor of psychology. “This study shows we can quantify the extent to which men agree about which women are attractive and vice versa.â€￾
More than 4,000 participants in the study rated photographs of men and women (ages 18-25) for attractiveness on a 10-point scale ranging from “not at allâ€￾ to “very.â€￾ In exchange for their participation, raters were told what characteristics they found attractive compared with the average person. The raters ranged in age from 18 to more than 70.
Before the participants judged the photographs for attractiveness, the members of the research team rated the images for how seductive, confident, thin, sensitive, stylish, curvaceous (women), muscular (men), traditional, masculine/feminine, classy, well-groomed, or upbeat the people looked.
Breaking out these factors helped the researchers figure out what common characteristics appealed most to women and men.
Men’s judgments of women’s attractiveness were based primarily around physical features and they rated highly those who looked thin and seductive. Most of the men in the study also rated photographs of women who looked confident as more attractive.
As a group, the women rating men showed some preference for thin, muscular subjects, but disagreed on how attractive many men in the study were. Some women gave high attractiveness ratings to the men other women said were not attractive at all.
“As far as we know, this is the first study to investigate whether there are differences in the level of consensus male and female raters have in their attractiveness judgments,â€￾ Wood says. “These differences have implications for the different experiences and strategies that could be expected for men and women in the dating marketplace.â€￾
For example, women may encounter less competition from other women for the men they find attractive, he says. Men may need to invest more time and energy in attracting and then guarding their mates from other potential suitors, given that the mates they judge attractive are likely to be found attractive by many other men.
Wood says the study results have implications for eating disorders and how expectations regarding attractiveness affect behavior.
“The study helps explain why women experience stronger norms than men to obtain or maintain certain physical characteristics,â€￾ he says. “Women who are trying to impress men are likely to be found much more attractive if they meet certain physical standards, and much less if they don’t. Although men are rated as more attractive by women when they meet these physical appearance standards too, their overall judged attractiveness isn’t as tightly linked to their physical features.â€￾

Agreed. Having hair wouldn't help that guy much - not with that face, build and demeanour.

I don't see that study contradicting what I said anywhere.

You: Women look for unalterable traits

Study, on men: Men’s judgments of women’s attractiveness were based primarily around physical features

Study, on women: women rating men showed some preference for thin, muscular subjects, but disagreed on how attractive many men in the study were. Some women gave high attractiveness ratings to the men other women said were not attractive at all.

In fact the study shows that men have a narrower range of what they judge to be attractive. Women's taste varies much more than men's. What one woman is attracted to another woman might not be. Some, but not all, care about thin and muscular. Men agree much more often than women about what is or is not attractive about the opposite sex, that is the main finding of the study. Read it again.

but they are usually more manly chiseled face skinny and not alien pale looking skinny like this guy. More of a square jaw skinny.
Usually taller as well.
Just going by what I see.

But my comment wasn't really about attracting the ladies more than just looking like a human being and not some kind of lizard.
