If full Head of Hair can't make all Tom Cruise, why expect bald to be Vin Diesel.

Joan, I really respect your empathy towards hair loss sufferers, which I think is derived directly from your own experience with hair loss. Most women do not suffer from hair loss so they look around, see bald guy functioning in everyday life, and assume that it is no big deal. Yet I know that if these women were experiencing hair loss at a young age, they would most definitely be singing a different tune.

My empathy for you guys would still exist even if I weren't suffering hair loss because my older son started losing hair around his 18th birthday, two years ago, and that is affecting me far more than my own hair loss. I'm (a young!) 52, so all I can do is be sad because I'm a female losing hair. Older women don't deserve as much sympathy as those EvilLocks' age.

Of course you deserve sympathy, Joan. It is never fun losing your hair, male or female, old or young. Of course losing your hair young comes with it's struggles, but still you are a woman losing your hair and that DOES deserve plenty of sympathy. Lucky for you your hair isn't bad at all (from the pictures I saw), and hopefully it will stay that way for a long time to come.

And me. Well, technically I started losing my hair aggressively at age 13, and went on rogaine at 15 (my parents would not allow me to go on it before that).

That must have been really tough, Captain. 13 is just a kid... I feel bad for you.

Look we all feel bad.

If we were to measure and compare the psychological /emotional impact of each member,

then we'ld surely have to acknowledge some of us have had it worse than others, or have been (genetically) dealt a poorer hand than others.

Also we too easily forget how routinely mundane activities have their compounding influence(s) eg: the side of the bed I climbed out of this morning.

As hair loss sufferers we all get our turn at the revolving whipping post.

Pain may be our toughest teacher and also our greatest.

So while the faces and circumstances do not change, the sufferer's symptoms and ill-effects can and do fluctuate.

Mainly it's our mood(s), attitude(s), and perspective(s) remain key factor(s) that

determine whether today will be our destroyer or our keeper.

For me this daily maker /breaker scenario, we as hair loss sufferers regularly experience,

often serves as a daily reminder

that our active compassion for everyone here is absolutely warranted.

p**rn is just a visual medium for imagination. Literature also serves the same purpose. Women choose to indulge their fantasies through the written medium, there exists a "rape fantasy" genre.
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/rape-fantasy

The next step in your argument should be claiming that all fiction books, video games, and tv distort our sense of reality (why restrict your argument to the sexual domain?).

All things in moderation, I do still sometimes watch p**rn, I don't think it should be banned or anything, I just mean the prevalence and normality of it to a lot of people is pretty destructive.

The reason that next step in the argument wouldn't apply is because those mediums are across a broad range of experience, the sexual domain is specific to p**rn, and if that becomes a significant amount or all of a persons experience of it, then I find that destructive. Nobody relates their experience of driving to playing Gran Turismo, or every time you walk into a convenience store you don't think of the film Clerks (but it wouldn't really matter if you did for either of these examples), those other mediums aren't as insistent on sticking to a persons mind when it comes to their own experiences in the same way p**rn does when it comes to actual sex.

But the difference between why p**rn matters and Gran Turismo or Clerks doesn't? Another reason those mediums don't apply is that sexual stimulation is a uniquely sensitive and personal thing we take for granted, you can't relate it to pretty much anything else. There's a mixture of great and sometimes confusing emotions that aren't as subconsciously effecting as other experiences you may want to equate them to.

Watching a marathon of Man vs Food isn't going to affect my enjoyment of a hamburger, but regularly watching a muscle bound guy with a 9 inch dick plough 2 teenage girls may make me feel my love life is a bit inadequate.

@h.l.

You're clearly either very inexperienced or very sheltered sexually. Doesn't matter. Point is you have no idea what you're talking about if you think a BDSM relationship is anything like you describe.

I'm neither but, if I don't have any clue what I'm talking about, you really haven't done anything to help me further understand. Also I think it's jumping the gun a bit to assume I know nothing at all on the subject or psychology of it, based on an admittedly fleeting and dismissive post I wrote.

Thank you, EvilLocks. :) I don't know if your pictures were pre-hair loss, but it looked beautiful and thick--way better than even my pregnant hair!

I feel bad for you too, CF. Truly. So unfair.

One of the pictures were pre-hair loss, or really during but since I had such a thick head of hair it was not visible to other people that I had been losing hair...

You jumped into a conversation that you clearly were not the intended audience of and spouted off about something you know nothing about. If you want to learn what real BDSM relationships are like, then there are plenty of resources available online. It's not my job to teach you - Moreover, even if I felt inclined to teach people people about it, spouting off in an ignorant way like you did is no way to get an informative response from me.

Well, that's not entirely true. He's a good role model if your an alien hunter or a bouncer.

There's nothing with accepting who you are. That's actually very cool.
i dont think anyone would say baldness is a part of who they are

Late reply here, I didn't see this at the time.

Again, know nothing about? How do you know that? I wanted your take on BDSM relationships, I've read plenty and known enough people who engage with it. My opinions don't cover what EVERY relationship is like, but the majority, or a significant amount? Certainly. Nobody I've known has ever really tried denying it.
