Its not coming out until 2018? I thought people were saying news in like December, then maybe like Jan. or so. What I just looked at fidia seemed to say it would be done by 2018. The only remotely exciting thing about this lotion is just how soon it might come out. If you said this isnt coming out for another couple years I would just say screw it and try propecia instead.

Just my 2 cents: When I first read the italian anouncement (used google translate) I got really disappointed. After reading this http://www.fidiapharma.com/en/news/prof-brotzu-s-hair-loss-remedy,3,115 and having read all the posts since then, I think I can just explain one misunderstanding- since Brotzu said it works for all kinds of hairloss, it makes sense to make a product for "ALOPECIA" aka hair loss. I repeat, for hair loss, which means cases you lose hair due to androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata and other reasons. So this part seems OK for me now and does not worry me.
What troubles me though is what guys above said. It was supposed to be a ready formula. With proven results by Brotzu. So pay attention to this: They didn't say the sh*t is ready, just hold on for the production/logistics issues to be resolved. Crap like "we are working for the best" and "bla bla bla" seem VERY suspicous to me. "study is still in progress". That was a real punch in the face...

PS.My last hope is that they want to make a full 1-year trial so they can decide the use rate of the product (remember Brotzu saying that he was not quite sure how to use if after you see results? Well maybe they want to examine this in order to be able to tell the customers how exactly to use the product in a year-frame)

PS2.Hope is again the only thing that is left. Im getting quite tired by this, dealing with the f******g issue like 5.5+ years now...

You guys all realize it is 2017 right? Like 2018 will be here before you know it
Yeah a year from now, a year more of receding and loss. Fidia fucked up bad they're gonna have a f*** ton of competition by the time they release their lotion. Don't quite understand what the delay could be considering it's been tested for basically 6 years now.

People are being completely irrational here. Everyone is pissed off and talking like this is a failure when all that's actually happened is the first public statement made by FIDIA isn't the answer people hoped for.

It makes me think that perhaps many of the naysayers on these forums are so pessimistic not because of legitimate past failures, but because people put all these expectations and hype on products before they had any reason to and then blamed the company for not meeting a demand that the company in question never claimed they would meet

I honestly don't understand its GOOD NEWS...people are a little paranoid.

Researchers have spent decades trying to cure cancer, Alzheimers and ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Discovering and/or creating cures is an unfathomable journey, whether it's for hair regrowth or arthritis. There are no machinations going on in the research-pharmacuetical realm. No one's trying to pull hairy rug out from under you for shits and giggles. Whoever discovers the cure will reap billions.

Honestly... a year isn't that much. I know this will get disliked but hair loss really is a long process. Very rarely will 1 year (especially with being on meds) be that catastrophic

I was reading Follicle thought http://www.folliclethought.com and it really perked me up.

2018 is really THE year so much is going to be available---how well each thing works who knows but it's getting closer.

This sucks depending on where someone is with hair loss but for young guys and women who are just starting to lose..its not bad.

Has Fidia ever acknowledged the lotion is effective or that they even testing it's efficacy for Androgenetic Alopecia? I know Brotzu has but has Fidia?

Fidea Farmaceutici is focused on improving the quality of life of patients we are addressing this unmet medical need, a condition that can occur at any age and affects men and women...
Alopecia (hair loss) can cause serious distress in people...Fidia has made a strong commitment to research and development, to offer all patients who are affected by the problem, a real treatment option – effective, safe and stable – at the end of the entire study.

we envisage the development of the potential product candidate being completed by 2018.

if it was ineffective why would they say above in statement. its not really logical for them to do that.
If it was ineffective the language would have been 'less' enthusiastic.

Unfortunately some of the products / treatments that are aimed to be released in 2018 won't even make to production.

Hairloss business is such a sh*tty thing. There is a lot of promises but nothing new and promising were released. I was reading about "cures" that were planned to be released by 2010. some of them were backed by accomplished Doctors. I even don't remember names of those so called cures - there were so many of them.

No disrespect to anyone but if its 2018-2020 I'm okay.

I know people reference the past a lot but i have read some of those old threads and i don't see it comparing to the number of stuff that is on horizon.

i don't want to debate the horrors of the Hair loss industry i get it but still no better time then now to be having hair loss issues starting.

Never believe what BiG PHARMA companies are saying. They are full of bullsh*t and those companies can't be trusted. They compete with other big companies and buy patents so other companies can't use them - in many cases they don't do anything with those patents.
I hope it's not the case here but you can mark my word this lotion will hit the black market and ether it will be hit or miss.

I'm referring to past because I see same pattern here.
If we are talking about next few years, there will be some major improvements in hair transplants. It will became more affordable too so why are we worrying about Brotzu lotion? :)

The POINT was in reference to what the previous poster wrote.

I don't think Fidia is 'big' pharma but they are not 'small' start up either...

I doubt they go around buying up patents and doing nothing with them if they are feasible treatments.

I can understand a pharmaceutical company doing this if it was in competition with its self to buy competitive products.

A watched pot never boils. You guys have a year to be proactive and do what you need to do to hold on to your hair.

Imo finasteride doesn't look like it's gonna be a lifelong decision for most of us with all the moves apparently being made in the industry.

So if you're not doing whatever needs to be done to keep your hair until then, waiting for this will most likely drive you insane.. oh yeah, and bald too.

Don't know why this got a dislike. But you're right, Brotzu made very very extraordinary claims and his reputation combined with those claims is what made me optimistic. However, I think there is a third option to what you posted: FIDIA wants to run more trials (safety, efficiency, comparisions etc...) and this post was just a way for them to get everyone to shut up for a year.

I have a good feeling it's that (Emphasis on "feeling"). I speculate FIDIA may be coming towards the later stages and wants to do this right and need people to stop nagging them constantly. However, I'm not gonna abandon my current regimen. Staying

Eh, it's because it's a typical cult following at this point. One miserable f*ck even said "f*ck alopecia areata treatment, nobody cares about that" - paraphrasing. Now, I didn't like that post, but I didn't clicked the dislike button. I have 14 dislikes in this thread and counting (this post will get several). The people frequently disliking seem to be too emotionally attached to this lotion. But the way I see it is that they have such miserable attitudes I don't think they're ever going to find the solution to their problem behaving that way. People dislike posts without any explanation. It's also evident that a couple of posters just spammed the dislike button to troll other members in this thread.

Question)at fidia's announcement 'by 2018' means it could be the end of 2018? Almost left 2 years?
It means basically nothing, because products get delayed all the time.
