They're focused on their own figure and their own requirements and ambitions, not those of others unless someone explicitly asks them.

Your muscle dont know the difference between a dumbbell curl, and concentration curl. Whatever route of execution,as long as the muscle is getting properly worked it doesn't matter if you use a machine or free weight. If anything those who stick to machines, and hammer strength machines tend to get hurt less. As the movements are more fixed, leading to better form and less room to 'ego lift' and potentially hurt yourself.
I love free weight, but I can assure you it wont make a difference. Muscles don't know the difference.
I don't see the problem here, you will never throw identical numbers on free weights:machine related equipment.The machines are designed to isolate muscle groups. It makes them a good complement to exercise, but you inevitably use different bodyparts using free weights.
It's why when I do the chest press on a machine, I push ~30% more than when I do a barbell bench press, and in turn with the latter I push ~30% more than when doing a dumbbell bench press.

A 225LB chest press will never be the equivalent of a 225LB flat BB bench press.
All that matters is you stimulate the muscle, and push it to the point where you enter a progressive overload territory. this is when you effectively break down, and push the muscle hard to enough to grow. Through intensity, weight, and different tempos. Typically you always want always push equal or more then 60% of your 1 rep max. If 100 is your max, then your goal should be to push 60lb or over. Anything below, and I don't believe you are pushing the muscle hard enough, regardless of how many repetitions you do. Taxing the muscle is done by a combination of intensity, weight, rep and speed.

In general though, it's hard and convoluted to make a great program that doesn't include bench press, military press, barbell curl, squat, and deadlift.
