I think I do, but it's hard to tell whether or not im in my own head. That's four years difference, do you think it will continue to advance (if it has in fact receded)? Am I still below NW2?

Unpredictable. Not a NW2 just yet.

Everyone's forehead gets bigger over time.
You think im an nw2 yet?
I dont know. Who cares. You dont look like your balding though. By he time you look like your balding you will have other issues of aging. For example, grey hair, grey beard, wrinkles, sagging fuller face, broken blood vessels on face. Tooth deterioration and discolouring, extra body fat etc etc etc. The list is endless. Age makes ruins of us all. Best thing to do is do what you can within reason to help but in the end we are al gonna get old and ugly. Sooner than you think too

It's the truth though. Look at your dad and your granddad. Look closely . We all are gonna get there. What I'm saying is hair isn't everything and having perfect hair definatley isn't the only thing you should be focusing on because before you know it life hits you with a load of other sh*t to deal with.

We've got to live in the moment. Everybody looks like sh*t once they have aged.
Your right mate because you may hold off a bit of hairloss for a while but wait what's that, wrinkles sh*t, nose hair, sh*t age spots sh*t. Ah f*** I'm screwed anyway lol. Do what you can and enjoy the hair you have now at this moment. Enjoy your life the best you can in this moment cause every day we are on our way to getting old

I am well on my way to being old at 37 but the one plus side is when everything starts going to sh*t you have to accept it and it actually worries you alot less than when you first noticed some recession in your early twenties and sh*t yourself

September update... trying not to obsess but it's very hard. Everyone I talk to about it that I know says that I am crazy and it is normal/maturing. My friend who is very severely balding and has been on minoxidil/finasteride combo for a few years doesn't think it's balding, he thinks mature not balding. Love to hear more opinions, always have loved my hair and it's very worrying to me, left side in particular...

What’s your family history?
Father has a full head of hair, some slight recession in the corners and thinning, but not much for his age of 58. Definitely a full head of hair and thick and wavy for his age. He also doesn't have the widow's peak like me, his hairline is straighter, I inherited the widow's peak from my mother who has one. His father however was pretty balding/thinning for much of his adult life, never went fully bald but didn't have a ton of hair. My mother's father has a good head of hair for 84, solid coverage on top and definitely some recession and thinning but he is definitely not bald and still like has a hairline which I think is solid for 84. I'd call him like a Norwood 2/3 but I'm no good with those scales. Can post pictures if easier

Doesn’t sound like your genes are too bad and you might not ever be at risk at going bald. The question may be do you want to use finasteride to prevent the possibility of going to a NW3? Or whatever your genetic destiny happens to be.

Would you say I'm at norwood 2 yet or still norwood 1.5 as others have claimed

I'd say nw2, you really should've started taking finasteride at the first signs a few years ago at nw1-1.5. it's definitely matured, but hasn't progressed to the point to balding and may never. But being proactive is always better then trying to recover. Best of luck.
