You people are taking the video way too seriously. The OP obviously has a political agenda - hating on left-wingers. He knew by drawing everyone's attention to the one woman who complains about looking good he could get everyone mad at left-wingers.

I don't care what people call me.

I just want my hair back so I can make myself look good and pick up some chicks.

To be honest you can't have a fair minded discussion with him (in my opinion) i dont think he's a bad person but he is very stuck on you are 'this' or you are 'that'.. Plus he has poor view point on Americans. Seems to feel superior to us intellectually.

So why bother.

Meh.

i'm a liberal by all means, but even i hate that video. That video is one of the things that are wrong with the world; everyone is just too goddamn f*****g sensitive. And this is coming from someone who is pro equal rights, pro choice, pro equal marriage rights, etc - there's a difference between being a liberal and a goddamn crybaby, and people nowadays seem to fall in the crybaby category more than ever. Grow a layer of skin and stop taking everything personally - the world doesn't revolve around you.

Thank you!

Those people (the cry babies) don't speak for me or my political view point.

At all.

So the guy who got blown up in a war should stop being so sensitive about it, and the black man should stop being so sensitive about being called a n____r, and the gay man should stop being so sensitive about being called a f___t. OK. And would you apply that same attitude to bald men/women who are sensitive about the way they're talked about and treated? Should bald people just man-up/woman-up and stop being, as you said, "crybabies"?

I think he means these promotional sappy videos..not the individuals or the specific situations.
The 'love' will conquer all aspect--not the actual real problems.

'Dood': old school liberal, libertarian is tea-party in my book. But I'm pretty sure you've been told the tea party is the KKK incarnate. And you got scammed again.

Daily reminder: age is no indicator of IQ.

I wouldn't know - i was so nauseated by the self-entitled, spoiled attitude of the girl who was so afflicted by her good looks that i stopped the video. See, had they really cared about the other people in the video they wouldn't have added that chick in the mix. Why? Because it just dilutes and diminishes real struggles, like the one of the soldier or the black man, who have legitimate concerns. But no - some spoiled brat convinced people that they needed to show a variety of "victims" to relate to more people so they could get more clicks, and in the process ended up ruining the point of the video. Compromise, in art, engineering, or thought, breeds mediocrity and that's exactly what we have here. I mediocre piece of footage that means nothing because they decided to treat everyone (even the spoiled attractive woman) "issue" equally. Why don't they just make a video of people at Starbucks complaining because they ran out of Splenda and segue into a nice video of Syrian orphans crying for their parents - yeh, those are the same thing right? Everyone's problems are the same in today's world - noone has the balls to say "your problems are basically bullshit, grow up"; that's political correctness at work.

I agree with you 100% about the girl in that video. She should not be in the video. The producers of that video made a big mistake comparing her burden to the burdens of the other people in the video, She makes the frivolous complaint that she's too pretty so people only notice what she looks like but the other people in the video have actual burdens.

I'm somehow sure that calling strangers 'dude' is insulting and condescending, thus undermines polite debating.

Maybe language barriers? I forgot Americans use very basic language even with strangers. But I missed al those political debates with 'dude' thrown around. Or is this /pol/ 2? I'm ready if it is
Your anti American stance is very racist, doooooooooooooooooode!

Great post, on point. Ugliness is unapologetically discriminated against in almost all aspects of life.

And we complain about that discrimination, right?

* So what's wrong with that injured veteran complaining about being discriminated because of his dissability?

* And what's wrong with the African American complaining about being discriminated against because he's African American?

* And what's wrong with the gay man complaining about being discriminated against because he's gay?

I mean, if we don't like being discriminated against why should we expect other people to like being discriminated against?

Forget about the woman in the video. It was a professional error for the producers of that video to put a woman in there complaining about looking too good. It's nonsense to compare her situation to the peoples' situations.

Nothing wrong with complaining about these discriminations if they are occurring.

From my perspective some of it is going to seem laughably trivial is all.

I argued with these two women once about catcalling. I argued that yes I can see how it's problematic but in the scheme of things it's a non-issue. They did not like this at all. All I could think of is how little these girls realise they've won just by being beautiful. Put them in an ugly body and see how quick they will be overjoyed at not being catcalled anymore.

LOL

You really look at things all one way or the other

Yes cat calling in most situations is innocent

Not always.

And yes its usually done in a light hearted way like "hey mommy you look good--damn'

Sometimes not so much though.

Sometimes it is used in a menacing way. like "yo b**ch why you alone...why dont you come suck my dick" as they follow you on a dark street to the subway.

I think some women feel like some of you guys feel--all or nothing...not situational

You guys on here say a lot of things that are all one way good/bad...no room for in-between

So next time you walk down a dark street and a group of big men start going on about how you *** looks in your jeans and how good it would look if they were f*****g you up the *** and you are by yourself---let me know how that feels LOL

I've been mugged, started on and threatened with knife while 'walking down a dark street', so don't act like these 'big men' are only problematic to females. Statistics say otherwise.

But anyhow, I'm not trying to downplay people fearing being attacked by guys shouting at them. I'm saying that if you start complaining to me that guys were shouting at you on your morning run, I'm going to consider trivial compared to my problems. Of course it's still a problem "yes I can see how it's problematic" but it's quite minor (in my eyes).

It's completely subjective though. At the end of the day maybe these women are kept up at night because of this catcalling.

Just to me it seems trivial.

I did not talk to you as if its problematic only for women to get attacked---but there is a difference between someone muggin you for money and wanting to stick his dick up your ***--did he try to stick his dick up your *** or fondle your penis?
IF so i apologize but some how i dont think you were afraid of being sexually assaulted were you?

Like i said most times its innocent

But three female joggers in NY and Pennsylvania area were found murdered near their homes this Summer raped and murdered when out for a jog.

this is a strange catcall

Thats the point what you and i consider cat calls is not what everyone considers cat calls

Like i wrote most cat calls are innocent and dont bother me.

but this extreme thinking all women are potential cry babies or 'snow flakes' because they dont like cat calls is stupid

its individual.

you dont know what someones experience has been until you speak to them.

This. The feminist rallying cry of "white male privilege" is particularly infuriating. To switch on the news channel and find some attractive, upper-middle class woman complaining about how easy men have it and how her 1/4 India heritage is ruining her life just sickens me. When are these b****s going to learn? "Privilege" (much as I loathe the concept) comes in many forms and being either a) white or b) male are in truth two of the least potent. "White male privilege"? Tell that to your local binman. The most powerful "privileges" in society are good looks and socio-economic status. Anyone who says otherwise is chatting nonsense. Other important ones include mental health, physical health and intellect. All these markers have far greater impacts on happiness and life quality than being a white male ever could. I'm not denying that being white and male confers some small advantages (it does), but balancing forces like positive discrimination exist as well and much as everyone likes to pretend racism's still a problem, in most places it's all but abolished. It certainly no longer exists at an institutional level. For the most part, racism in the 21st century is as fictional as the gender-pay-gap. Just another PC wheeze cooked up to demonise white men. As if there aren't enough of those already.
I think racism does still exist only it's different, like quiet racism, think about the caucasian woman who turns down the brown, or black, or asian man because of his skin color. Just speaking from experience here. One other observation is how races normally hang out together.

I dont agree that physical attraction or lack of physical attraction is racist.

for men or women in same race or outside race.

people just have types.
