You bet you will still care in your 40s. I know I will.

Appearance is important not only for getting laid. It effects everything else, including for example your chances of getting promoted at work. It's not a coincidence that CEOs or the president of the US have a typical physical profile. Appearance plays a big role in the lowers ranks too obviously, that is why it pays to dress well, be well groomed etc. And in your 40s you're going to probably be in your prime professionally. I'm not saying you can't be successful while bald - you can, but the more competitive the positions you're fighting for, the more appearance plays a role.

Also, being 40 is kinda of young nowadays. Tom Brady is winning Super Bowls in his 40s and there are other world class athletes that are at the top of their games with similar age. Schwarzenegger played T2 in his 40s. The James Bond character is played by dudes in his 40s. Etc.

Some people may "stop caring" about hair loss in his 40s because once they get there they already lost almost all their hair and there is nothing they can do about it. BUT, if a cure comes along you can be sure this same people will be flocking into it.

When I first joined Dutasteride was going to save all of our lives. Then I went through all the experimental treatments (TB4, PS1?, etc. etc.). Got married, left here for a while so I missed the Intercytex and Aderans phase. Got divorced and been lurking for a couple of years <face palm emoji>

I don't want to derail this thread more than I already have but a few things, I'm way more optimistic about not only upcoming treatments, but hair transplants technology, methodology and skill. The isht results you'd see back then would make you want to cry.

Also, the level of knowledge from the forum members today is far greater than it was when I first joined, which again adds to my optimism.

Lastly, definitely worse as a younger cat to experience hairloss. Don't get me wrong, it still sucks, but it's more natural to be balding in your 40's than your 20's. Luckily I noticed it early, jumped on finasteride & minoxidil and have maintained fairly well.

I agree, 10 years ago we didn't have that many people that wanted to castrate themselfes for hair but look at the community now. We are evolving backwards :)
Hope that the science is at least evolving forwards! Lol I doubt there will ever be something next to a cure like cloning in my life-time. I should better jump on a good treatment...

Feels reassuring to have an optimistic view from someone who has been following the hair loss cure news for a long time. I wasn't sure if it was my desperation telling me current companies are hyping us up just like back then or whether they might actually be close to a cure.

Don't see anything we didn't already know.
What's the matter with all this negativity?
Am i missing something?

Clinical trials time period ~2024. At the least 3 more years until anyone has a clue if it even works as expected.

No, 2024 is the deadline for the recruiment of 5 milion dollars, the actual day could even be a week from now.
If tomorrow a serious company steps in, in six months they will have started the trials.

Don't be so dramatic. They had to put a date to end the call, what did you want them to do, make it next week? The trials will begin whenever they get the money, and they don't have to be completed for it to be commercialized.
