Whatever Happened To All The Replicel/shiseido Hype?

Razz, when sb says "within ..." doesn't necessarily mean "at the end of ...".
Just sayin'.
I know man.... but "within 10 years" hardly ever means "in five years".

Just sayin'

Of course, now with the clarification you just posted, the 2020 hype is more believable.
Even if it is 2022, it is pretty close. Let's just hope those trials starting next year work out well.

that is because you are quite wise. quite wise indeed. japanese set a goal, work dilligently toward it, and achieve it. get ready for hair.
I wish it was that simple.
If I was sure that there would be a cure by 2022, I would be driven to work, save up and get it.

Its not that simple, but the bottom line is that in general the Japanese arent at all prone to exaggeration or BS. I dont follow every nuance of supposed new treatments etc but I know over the years there has been a lot of BS, statements made to pump stock prices, etc. I dont think thats what youre getting from Japan.

Come on. That's hardly logic.
That's wishful thinking too. the Japs are ordinary people, like everyone else.

Man get out of here with your stereotype. Researchers of all race are well educated and typically respected people. Japs or Asians in general are as guilty with overhyping and jumping the gun as well as promoting snake oils.

You just say they’re more trustworthy bcs you want it to be true, so you’ll have something to look forward to, to end your depression of balding. But please, be real.

Cause the hype would already be up the roof by now, and i'm not talking about a dozen of super excited forum members.
Really? How?
They haven't even applied the technology on human scalps yet.
How could it be hyped?
I don't believe it's gonna be available in 2020 either, but 2025-2030 seems about right.

So there was talk of shiseido being available in Japan late 2018. Have there been any updates? I've been meaning to visit Japan for a long time anyhow. :)

Everyone got mad at me 6 months ago when I was calling bullshit on Tsuji's magical timeline. I still call bullshit on it.

You guys should all be maxing your oral/topical antiandrogens and growth stimulants as has always been the case for male pattern baldness.

You cant just sit around losing hair while fantasizing that stem cells will magically save you from your mistakes.

Be aggressive. Keep what you have. Or live without it. There are never any guarantees that what is gone will ever come back.

My fellow balding friends, I dont actually care very much if Japan or anyone else invents a cure for balding. I'm happy enough with my minoxidil and probably wouldn't pay for an expensive new treatment anyway. But what I said is true. Japan, because it is so very homogeneous and monocultural, and because the norms and practices of that mono-culture are so widely followed there, is actually a place where you can make a few generalizations about norms and practices and they are likelier to to be true than in other places. For example, if you walk into a place of business in Japan, basically without fail you'll be vocally welcomed by the staff, bowed to if any are nearby, and any question you ask is going to be enthusiastically, immediately and comprehensively answered. Because they take their work seriously. You're never ever going to deal with a bored teenager ignoring you while he texts his friends. It's also a place where if you lose something you can be reasonably sure it will be returned to a massive warehouse of carefully catalogued and managed lost stuff, as that's just what people do there. Not always, but it happens far more often than you'd expect in most other places. Does this mean hair loss salvation will emerge from Japan? No it does not. But I suspect that if a Japanese company is making claims of progress it's more likely to be true than in many other places where pump and dump is a lot more common.

And by the way "Japs" is a racist term.

I worked (past tense) for a Japanese printing company for five years, in the United States.

Believe me, they work night and day to get the job done. They're not lazy.

They don't bullshit.

They've already improved Histogen technology. So, even if the Japanese version of Replicel isn't out
by 2020, it WILL BE OUT.

There going to be the global hair loss leader, and probably one of the RICHEST nations because
of hair loss treatments alone.

It's a matter of WHEN with them, not IF. It WILL HAPPEN.

Lol they're already in the top 3 richest countries by gdp. You think hairloss is that lucrative to make a whole country more rich ? i suggest you read big investment banks reports about hairloss treatment so you can understand why it's not that lucrative, people imagine hairloss cure will be so simple that you pop up a pill and there you go you have your hair back. no it's not going to be that simple it's going to involve a lot of resources and materials and not all people are to be ok with every treatment requirement (time, money, complexity ....) it can make every company involved in the supply chain rich if they manage to get the job done without investing a lot but not a whole country.

stop dreaming baldness is not a first world problem unless you're bald.
