Speaking of ethics and transplants: what kind of surgeon would do this??

They would you densely pack the frontal third and ignore the gaping hole at the back?

Brutal and painful, how it's not just hair. The piece of peace can be a life saver for a good looking guy when no other options remain. We may not like it, but it is what it is. Certainly I would resort to one if everything somehow failed and hope to wear it through my prime years, although i do have a solid plan for maintaining good full hair (finasteride and surgery).

@Joan recently said she saw a Dr on TV that reminded her of me to a T (except I have fuller lips). I'll admit, it's a closer lookalike than my ex found considerably. I hope to look like that in 10 years IF I keep my hair, worrying how it's the sole factor which can screw everything up. We're really at the mercy of our genetics. If finasteride stops working, it's over, currently no indication though, my hair at its best since 24.

I hope to age like you Joan, remaining attractive in looks and personality always! You're my inspiration and i'm sure for many in your life for multiple reasons. It's funny you saw this on TV as you were working out, always "dumbbells calling" >>>> discipline and genetics is in your blood :D
That doctor reminds me of actor Darren Criss who has incredible hair too like this doctor. I wish I had hair like either one them. I think Dr Travis Stork had a minor transplant. I remember seeing an episode were he was losing in the crown and his forelock is thicker now. He may be on finsteride too.

The majority of people who are balding past NW3 are good transplant candidates if they are on finasteride. Unless its a money issue factoring in multiple procedures (which is understandable) there isn't a good reason not to strongly consider one. Adjusting for risk, most guys are still far better off opting for transplants than staying NW3+. Of course many have horrible donors, don't respond to medication etc but that isn't the majority of patients.

I thought of you immediately when I saw him. The resemblance is so strong!

Ditto, WP--you inspire me and give me a lift with just the right words when I need it (xo). You have no worries about aging badly because I do believe that no matter how well we take care of ourselves, our genetics are the biggest determining factor, and you've said your family ages quite well. Haha, the dumbbells have given me some muscle, but at 55, gravity is the stronger force. :( Hopefully, nameless is right about the aging process being reversed--and soon!

Honestly I'm scared, I had my ears pinned back when I was 15 and it wasn't exactly successful (6/10) and it fucked me psychologically and after spending all last year severely depressed, now that I'm in a good place mentally it's not something I want to rush but I'm 26 this year and really don't wanna be a nw3 anymore but I'm defiantly nervous, I don't think I'd be so nervous If I didn't have fine blonde hair even though I believe it won't be a problem for a top tier surgeon. I'm gonna upload some pictures here this week just so it forces me to stop pussy footing around and bite the bullet and send the pics.

Man believe me, this thing is killing me too, in a ways you can't imagine...Of course I'm gonna have a procedure one day and by one day I don't mean in my fifties! At the end any kind of hair is better than no hair at all. But, although I'm on finasteride for 1 and a half year I'm losing ground man and I can't predict the outcome, I can't predict my f*****g near future norwood status! Things change on a weekly basis plus a great % of my hair will become vellus in a couple of years, that's for sure.

So how on earth I'm gonna do a f*****g transplant? Lets say that tomorrow I'm putting 1.500 grafts on my temples, there's a strong possibility that I'll become norwood 4 in 3-4 f*****g years! Am I gonna have the money for another transplant? And, most important, will I have enough grafts left to put for a 3rd procedure in, lets say, in my forties?

Plus, I'm not gonna risk it and give 3-4 grand for such a serious thing. My grafts are precious, a bad transplant it's the worst thing that can happen and top doctors don't come cheap. I don't have 10K at the moment. I want to buy the "golden" ticket if there's such thing on this field..

Anyway, I totally feel you man. I went through a similar phase myself and that's why I started finasteride. A drug that if you asked me 2 years ago I wouldn't start at any point of my life.

"My grafts are precious"

They're precious so you're going to leave them in the back of your head and let yourself go slick bald until #Hairlosscureby2050 finally roles around?

LOL. I used to always say that but slightly differently. Something like no point taking donor hair to your grave! Got to avoid balding in the donor area though, otherwise looks really bad with a random hole there.

Hair transplant is minor surgery, though it may feel like major. It's just topical when you think about it. Pictures is best bet but maybe with finasteride and a transplant you could have a full head it sounds like. Unless you're actually diffuse Norwood 6/7 or something. Thick Norwood 3 is cured already with meds and a transplant. Be proactive I agree. Banish those fears and insecurities!
You're right, don't know why I've been so nervous to send pics, I know I'm in a decent position. I am going to send pics later. Think I've been in a depression hangover, It's weird feeling half normal.

lol, it's 10 times easier to get quality pussy in your 30's / 40's if you:

- Are in good shape
- Still have nice teeth
- Have a strong and young looking hairline

Most guys will look like sh*t as soon as they hit their mid 30's. Beer guts, balding/combovers/slick bald, zero body maintenance.

Being great looking when you're older, is like being great looking when you're younger, but with far less competition. Hell, getting young girls (20's) is also easy, as you're far more confident.

i agree with this.

but lets be honest, hair is a genetic lottery. I find it way more impressive seeing a muscular in shape guy in his fourties then I do seeing something he was genetically determined to maintain. seeing as most men after there 30's look like complete sh*t physique wise.

Why do you say its easier though? A mans prime is 25-35. so I will believe the 30s portion.

@Joan, I was so happy to see you posting again even if you came to confirm what a hunk Wolf Pack really is. You have alway inspired me in a very special way too. I only wish some day I get the privilege to meet you in person. Just make sure WP is not around so I can take all the spotlight.:D I hope to see you actively post again. I miss your posts.

Yes.

Dating in my early 20s was pretty terrible - I still had bad skin, I was skinny, and I had really low self esteem.

Dating in my late 20s and early 30s has been so much easier (despite the hair loss).

I said before: at 21 most guys are slim, full of life, and have good hair.

By 31 I would say that less than 30% of guys are still slim, with hair below nw3, and still have a zest for life.

I'm always genuine with my words. I think for many people on here, they're being hard on themselves when really they are looking and doing so well in life. You're one of them.

I really do think genetics is the biggest indicator too for us. Like you once said, your mum or grandma was a sun lover and smoker and aged well. I've seen examples like this around me, of course it's no excuse to slip up with the life style but we're at the mercy of our genetics for sure. You looked really toned with good muscle last time I saw which wasn't too long ago. And your quads are great in particular.

Nameless - if ageing is reversed it will be another 2k girls for him :D

It's nice to see you posting and feels different as it's not over PM. Here's hoping to getting you sucked in here. But you're too good and will resist. Loss for HairLossTalk.com, sorry folks.

Thanks for your compliments (too generous, as always!). I think in real life, though, I'd look quite different to you. I'm a realist based on my constant observations and critiquing of myself: I will agree that I'm in better shape (not that my body is anything special) than most women in my age bracket, but most of them have better skin and hair, even though a lot of them are thinning too.

Though I ran out of steam long ago (and really, I haven't much to offer due to my age), I do read the forums regularly, as they are a window into the worlds of my sons, especially the older one, who's been balding since 18. Some of the guys remind me of my kids in some ways, and the ones who get no support from their parents especially get to me.

Well, if you really do look like Keanu, then you're a hunk too! I was actually going to PM you today to say how much I love how you interact with everyone here, especially those to whom you relate because you've been in their shoes when you were their ages. You're so cute (yup, you can still be considered cute in your 50s), and I literally smile when I read some of the things you say. I was also going to say that if our paths ever crossed, I am going to give you such a warm hug, DH. There's one waiting for you if you ever find yourself in the northeast. xo

@Joan, I better make sure I conceal this huge blush on my face before I got to work. Thank you for your kind words and support. I have been saving a warm hug for you too so I guess if we cross paths we will have a bear hug convention.

You sent very honest unfiltered pictures in different settings. I can't imagine you looking too different. And lets face it, how do older celebs look first thing in the morning without the makeup and so on. I think your skin is good enough and also I don't notice your hair loss until you point it out. It all looks very natural which is the main thing!
I'm old--I don't know anything about how to use filters! It's sweet that we're all complimenting each other, but, more importantly, you and DH have become much more to me than your appearances. You both have a place in my heart, and so does David. I'm really fond of some others here too who not only I haven't seen, but I haven't interacted with them either. They can be basement dwellers in my house anytime.

Im tired of all these "Just do it bro" retards.

Hair transplants are a joke unless your hairloss is halted.

And no, you will not have a "Norwood 2.5 with a bald crown which is better than NW6", you will have a weird *** looking hair growth pattern, because it will not look as natural recession.

And most importantly, you are invisible to prime females past NW2, no matter what.

Most hairlines i've seen from hair transplant's look like dogshit and have to be hidden with gay haircuts.

Do hair transplant before marriage if you are bald norwood 6.

Even if your hair transplant do not satisfy your expectations..
photographs at marriage day will be good looking.

Photographic lights will do the magic of density at hairline.
