In essence it silences the AR without side effects? Is there are discussion of the theory as to why this will not silence the AR elsewhere in the body (goes systemic after topical application)? This is the type of things that I need tons of clinical data to believe the side effect story, unless I am missing something.

it is totally possible for such a molecule to become inactive in deeper skin layers or in the blood stream. olix is developing a similar type of treatment and it has been tested in human skin models and shown not to have much systemic activity. just think of minoxidil which has basically no activity systemically even though if you took the dosage you apply to your head orally you'd legit get cardiac arrest. not every drug acts as stupid as ainsteride in that even a tiny dosage can have a major systemic impact https://www.globenewswire.com/news-...Study-of-Hair-Loss-Therapeutic-Candidate.html
this is not the only company doing research on hair loss and inhibitory RNA molecules. in the case of Olix they used something called a Franz Diffusion Cell (https://www.creative-biostructure.com/images/Mempro-TM-Liposome- Penetration and Permeation Test.png) where you put in a skin sample and as I understand it check how much your compound penetrates the skin, what properties it has etc.
also they used in on mice and didnt find any of their compound in blood. while mice are not a good model for androgenic alopecia, I think they have thinner skins than humans even and thus this might be a good model when it comes to penetration testing. if you apply finasteride on a mouse it WILL go systemic

So I did some research on this this weekend and found some information -- don't have the links handy but they're easy to find via Google.
Right now, CosmeRNA has been rejected by the Korean FDA as a cosmetic because it's a novel treatment. Bioneer (distributing KR company) is currently going through the appeal process, but that's never a great sign. They're also submitting to Germany's equivalent as a cosmetic and are looking for partners in the US still.

But those articles are from December of last year and contradict what was announced later at the JP Morgan Health Care Conference 2022
They may have done well on appeal. I don't think they will risk to expand to Europe and the US without any type of approval from the Korean health authorities.
All speculation for now.

"Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009 (Article 13) states that all cosmetic products that will be placed on the market in the European Union need to be registered into CPNP prior to being placed on this market."
The German Dermatest only tests products for skin tolerance AFAIK. The products still need to get a CPNP registration before the products being launched in the EU, but I am not sure what other institution is in charge of giving safety approvals (other than skin tolerance).
So best case scenario would be a release in Q4 of 2022, but with all the pandemic stuff and supply chain problems a 2023 launch would be more likely.
