And Cassin, as a Cowboys fan, what the f*ck are you guys going to do with Felix Jones? Barber is only 25. And Felix is obviously way to good to be sitting, or even splitting touches. What's the word down in Big D? Will it be a "thunder and lighting" combo?

So you're finally buying into Romo? I thought you said you weren't sold.

In Dallas we have been considering this a 2back system for 4 years.

People laughed when we went to a 3-4 defense and a 2hb system. See that's what people miss when they say we have no true 2nd WR. We consider a hb and Telogen Effluvium as a split WR.

Working pretty well!!!!!

Romo’s nasty…plain and simple. My only knock on him has been the fact that he has basically been handed the torch of best QB without having won a significant game. That's definitely more of a knock on the media then on Romo, but I guess that’s the kind of popularity that comes with being a Cowboy QB. And I do think he’ll win some playoff games in his career, and probably a SB ring too, but he hasn’t yet. Brady had to win a LOT to get the recognition he deserved and had to prove himself time and time again, as have guys like McNabb and Peyton Manning. It just seemed to me like Romo snuck into a perfect situation, started throwing touchdowns, and suddenly was the best thing going.

As for why I would pick him above pretty much anyone else, and I know this seems simple, but what separates him is that quick release. It’s nuts...it's soooo quick. One second he’ll have the ball, and if you blink, the next second the ball will be in mid-air down the field. That’s a very powerful weapon for a QB to have. He’s also very accurate, has good mobility, and has a certain confidence and swagger that you would simply want your QB to have. There were points last year where Eli Manning would take the field and it looked like he just watched his dog get shot, and I don’t care how talented you are, you won’t get very far if you don’t have confidence…and Romo definitely does.

I totally agree with you, Easy. Brady earned his rights, and then there's Romo.

Too much confidence, if you ask me. He's the most arrogant douche in the NFL, in my opinion. I don't care that he dated Jessica Simpson. For God's sakes.

Too much confidence? Arrogant? Where the hell did you get that from? Please link me with something.

First time I have ever read anyone saying that

Cassin,

Let's reverse the roles. You have the entire NFL as a draft. Where do you take Romo? This isn't just QBs...this is anyone.

Whoa, whoa... don't your knickers in a twist, guys. I was just talkin' out my ***. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. That's pretty douche-like of myself to speak so openly...

Come on, let's forget about it. :fun:

Let me preface by saying I am a full on believer in the 2HB system now. I am a convert so I believe their value is limited.

1. Brady
2. Romo (people forget what a massive upside he still has. He hasn't even started 2 full seasons and has won 13 out of 15 games on the road)
3. Palmer (Bad team, perfect QB)
4. Manning
5. Wild Card - Cutler

Cassin,

I think Palmer is definitely quite the prototypical QB. He’s big, has a strong arm, and is very smart. But that injury really slowed him down. If that hadn’t happened, that following year would’ve been a monster year for him, I believe. I still rank him well below Manning. And I think Cutler is going to be great. The Cutler-Romo argument will soon replace the Manning-Brady argument. Now Cassin (and any other football fans out there), I ask you this: Who, in your opinion, is the greatest QB of all time??

I think you stick Palmer on a real team and he shine o shines. And remember my friend...we are taking injury's out of the equation just for the sake of discussion.

All time? I dunno...makes my brain hurt. Its so subjective due to how the game has changed.

That moron Bradhsaw is incredible for his time but look at the stats.

Troy was as mistake free as it gets but he had a great o line yet not jaw dropping numbers besides efficiency.

Brady is incredible but a system QB in the age of parity.

Marino is a numbers guy but no rings..

You can Propecia them all up and yank them down due to everything around them from era's to faults.

Cutler Romo argument? Now thats interesting! I have yet to hear it but I have no doubt you are right.

Cassin, I think your argument is flawed in respect to Brady. He was a system QB early in his career, but not any longer. I think you can put him on the Rams, and they'd drastically improve due to his presence. I had thought about this in the same manner as you have below, and I honestly think there are no knocks on Brady as there are to others, most of which you listed below. To me, a "system QB" doesn't throw 50 touchdowns in a year. Obviously, I think he's the greatest ever. Maybe I'm a homer, though. And to me, Brady's most impressive year was not 2007 with 50 TDs, it was 2006 when he missed taking that Pats team to the Superbowl because of a dropped pass on a 3rd down in the fourth quarter. That was a team with old-as-dirt Troy Brown and Reche Caldwell as the 2 receivers...and it Caldwell catches that pass, the Pats would've beat Chicago in the Superbowl. Well, that's my homer argument of why Brady's the best.

And here are 2 stats that I just hear through week 3 that shocked me:

-Until the 2nd quarter of their 3rd game last weekend, the Rams hadn't gotten into the red zone. That's AWFUL!!!
-The Broncos offensive stats through 3 games are basically identical to the Patriots stats last year through 3 weeks. Same points, and basically the same yardage.

But we will never know.

IMO My point is solid in that there is no such thing as the best ever in sports...its so generational as long as a sport changes.

Perhaps baseball now and non steroid era's can you rationally argue best ever.

Cassin, Gardener,

If you were given $1,000,000 right now to bet today on this year’s Super Bowl champion and you had 2 options, either the Cowboys, or the field…who would you bet it on?

Damn you and your questions...you make my head smoke...

lol...always interesting questions...

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

smart money says the field....

I take comfort that the redskins had to play a flawless game to win by a couple points...so eff it...Cowboys...

LOL, I’m glad you enjoyed the question, Cassin. I was just curious to see if you had lost a little bit of faith in your team, and apparently you didn’t…but c’mon Cassin, there isn’t a part of you that is like “F*ck! We lost to the friggin’ Redskins at home!!??â€

I actually always ask myself the same question when a team that I like is a favorite or a contender to win it. I asked myself the same question about the Patriots last year and I would’ve taken the Patriots without any hesitation at all, and they lost. I asked myself the same question about the Celtics last year and I would’ve taken the field, and the Celts won. So go figure………..

Read this today about Chad Johnson and the Cowboys. Could this be so? I think this would be the kiss of death..........

...don’t be surprised if another needy, greedy receiver with outrageous skills gets his wish and ends up joining the Cowboys after this season. Earlier this week Bengals wideout Chad Ocho Cinco (or Johnson, or whomever he is while he and Reebok continue their financial stalemate), whose struggling team plays at Texas Stadium Sunday, reiterated his desire to relocate to Dallas, saying he had pined for a trade there over the offseason.

“I tried,â€￾ Ocho Cinco told reporters who cover the Cowboys. “I talked to 81 (Owens) almost every day, man. I love 81. We talk all the time. That would’ve been a circus. Let me tell you, I don’t mean to be funny. … I’m not trying to be rude … but if I was in Dallas, they would have to change all of our damn games to pay-per-view because you need to pay to see that (expletive). I’m serious. I’m so serious. They would have to put all the games on pay-per-view. Because you just can’t watch a show like that for free.â€￾

I heard that interview and its always been like that. People always make noise to come here because of any of the below reasons...

1. Its the Cowboys (people always want to go to the Yankees too)

2. Cowboys pay EXTREMELYwell but contrary to popular belief we do not pay for free agents. We pay our own players truck loads of cash and we haven't brought in any high dollar free agents since Sanders in the 90's

3. Saying you want to come here drives up your value

****************************************************

Mark my words...he will never play here. We will bring in Roy Williams.

Uh-oh. First a tough loss to the Cards, and now Romo's out for a month. And I noticed Felix Jones was a little banged up too. Cassin, you concerned at all? I actually like Brad Johnson and think he'll do fine as a replacement, but as I've learned this year with the Patriots, life is not very easy when a stud QB goes down and you replace him with mediocrity.
