Funny you should post this.
As from today, I plan on introducing colostrum into my scalp care.
Colostrum contains lots of IGF-1.
(also will take it orally. So can't be sure if the topical worked - in case it will turn out to work)

IGF-1 is both necessary for health and a powerful ageing and carcinogenic factor... I wouldn't play with this.

Hey fellas.

I'm a little worried. I've been experiencing isolated soreness in one spot where I was dermarolling. Do you think its possible that it's an early sign of infection?

I've dermarolled 4 times now. 2mm 540 needles. Little spots of blood everywhere but nothing crazy. I've had some dull soreness for a few days after, but never one spot that has remained persistently sore.

I clean the dermarolled with alcohol before and after..

Is there something I could put on there? Polysporin?

Perhaps you are wounding too often combined with a larger needle size than used in the study. I suggest switching to once every two weeks. Keep in mind that the skin needs time to heal.

5th rolling session tonight. Scalp got MUCH redder and bloodier than and it has ever been before, even with the 'stage 1' roller (0.5mm). I'd been flaking all week from the scalp, assumed it was dandruff due reduced Nizoral usage, wondering if it was something else now. Noticing surprising amounts of extra vellus hair on the corner of of temples as of a few days ago, time will tell if that leads to anything.

I cannot tell you if you are having dandruff or not. But I have noticed that I shed quite a bit of skin 2-7 days of post-rolling. It looks almost exactly like dandruff, but slightly more yellow.
You might be experiencing the same?

I'm 99 percent sure it's the dermarolling. I've never had dandruff in my life and I only noticed skin shedding when I started dermarolling. By the way, I too am on Nizoral and experienced no skin shedding while on nizoral in the past. Nizoral is actually supposed to decrease shedding as it is an anti-dandruff shampoo.

Safe assumption that it isn't normal dandruff! I'll check for yellow tinges next time. Can't be a coincidence that flaked skin and the next rolling session seemed like I was missing a layer of skin. Even hurt more than usual!

By derma rolling weekly, It promotes keratinization (I shed skin like a mofo) or Keratinocyte proliferation. Shedding skin is a good sign.

Desinfect your scalp before and after wounding to avoid infections.

Apply some desinfectant on your scalp, some pharmaceutical solution containing alcohol. In the Indian study all balders were shaved. That helps with both the application of minoxidil and disinfectant…

what are some good topicals to use while derma rolling for regrowth? I know minoxidil is. What about a few others?

Instead of the minoxidil you can use the vitamin B12 + castrol oil, but you can achieve even better results by mixing vitamin B12 with minoxidil:

What do you think about replacing minoxidil by nanoxidil? Do you think that mixing vitamin B12 and nanoxidil can give results as good as vitamin B12 + minoxidil?

I take a shower prior to derma rolling. Just use common sense. It is not an heart surgery! Just makes sure that the derma roller is always clean. I dip the whole derma roller in 70% rubbing alcohol and inspect it for damages.

Do you guys wash your hair the day after derma rolling? If so, what shampoo do you use that won't disrupt the inflammation? I'm currently using Revivogen shampoo a day or so after derma rolling.
