Finally finished reading this entire thread. Educational stuff.

So what's the thinking on anti-androgens with DRing? As we're now inducing inflamation where does this leave us with inhibiting DHT?

I think the idea is that we don't really need to inhibit DHT (though dermaroller and DHT inhibition would probably give you better results, if you are willing to go down that path).

In the end, DHT is supposed to be the trigger for the process that would ultimately end up in fibrosis, fibrosis will fvck you follicles in the butt. So you can stop the DHT preventing that process of happening,

or you can go with the dermaroller, attacking fibrosis directly (a way saffer option than DHT inhibition).

No doubts anymore derma rolling with the 1.5 is regrowing my hair. Hairline isnt getting much lower but my inner hairline density is almost fully recovered. Just that I call a cure for me, as I was nw2 or more by 18 its all I ever knew. Thank you guys very much.

Good news indeed, Agahi! Congrats man

For anyone that thinks Dermarolling does not work I ran across these pics here on page 178 of the deramrolling thread on bald truth page 178.

First pic that is side by side is four month result page 157 same thread.

Also 20% Glycolic peel before/after.

Thanks casperz. Nice stuff.

Maybe it's also possible that once fibrotic tissues have been broken down by dermarolling and the skin context is back to almost normal for follicles, the negative effect of dht on existing follicles could be decreased compared to what it is in a highly fibrotic environment. Maybe.

I notice getting temples back is the biggest challenge. That guy at BTT p178 seems to fail at this. At least so far.

Maybe that's the hairline he was born with?

Awesome squee :) and for the rest that are already getting results from this.

So, you are not going crazy with the roll anymore, squee? No more bloddy head? That's because you are now rolling every 3 days or so, right? But isnt bleeding like a pig a must for this "trick" to work?

I'm still rolling once a week, and applying minoxidil every other day. Still hurts like hell though :S so far i can't seem to see significant changes, but i think in the long term this might really help. The theory behind it seems solid enough. Along with some other theories that were already mentioned here.

Yes still bloody head but not as crazy, I just go superfast with it and makes sure I have a good coverage. I did go crazy before but my recovery time was too long to look normal at work. I still stab my head with the 1.5mm roller twice a week with Glycolic Acid 30% strength. This is more than enough! and my head looks kind of normal after 1 or 2 days! Just slightly doing it. Before I was derma rolling like I was mad a my male pattern baldness! LOL My head used to look like Freddy Kruger after rolling!

Temples are the last to regrow, hair and sub fat is thin there.. It took a long time for the BBQ guy as well.. Even on new born babies. it takes forever.. Make sure you cover the area with the roller and let the time do his thing.

so could it be better to roll every 4-5 days instead of 2 weeks?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23190891

in this study inflammatory stopped ad about post wound day 5 ,also pgf and pge2 synthesis decreased rapidly while pgd2 started to get back on...

EDIT : Does anyone uses Taurin topically or oral?Since it acts anti fibrotic?

Each time you are rolling you are causing acute inflammatory which recruit growth factors. ATP, massive blood flow.. this is why I stab my head more often.

Kids don't have that sort of hairline.

Give him 6-8 months... his temples will slowly go back. The existing follicles just went back in business. He needs to reactivated the one in the bald as **** area.

I think Benjt said that the reson why diffuse thinners get a better response from treatments and why getting regrowth on your temples is so hard is because steam cells, growth factors, and all those things needed for regrowth are recruited from neighboring follicles. And as in high norwoods there are not much neighboring follciles still working I suppose that's why is pretty hard. But I don't think it's impossible.

The question is will his temples come back like a cloud of milk invading a cup full of tea or will they come back gradually as one block of vellus hairs becoming thicker and thicker, or a mix of both. A picture like the one posted on p178 wouldn't be able to show the hair on my temples but they are defintely growing from almost invisible white hair to black, thicker and longer hair.

Hair follicles are very complex. Just let the time do his thing. I have small dark hairs sprouting everywhere on my bald temples.. It is just a patience game.

Today I will do my 7th session. The treatment is ok for me. I feel my hair has thickened up a little bit, but nothing groundbreaking. And my crown looks a little better I think. I think the problem with me is I only use the minoxidil once a day instead of twice. But I do use 2x the amount in my one session. I am going to try two times a day starting this week. Squeegee anything else you recommend adding to this regiment? I am a diffuse thinner.

I probably won't be much of an active member here, but I found the research independently and started the 1.5mm weekly regime only to find that there was already a healthy and growing group devoted to it. Well I'm just waiting for my skin numbing cream to get to work before my s/o gives me my weekly needle torture.
