I understand the whole self confidence thing and it totally makes sense but hairloss just makes you look plain ugly. I know I sound like a broken record and I know there are worst much worst things in life to come to terms with but still. It sucks. And it's not just about getting a girl or money it is how you look. I could be dating my dream girl but still if I don't feel up to standards I 'll get depressed. How can you make yourself smile if you feel like crap? I think it's an attitude thing, some people are just better equipped for dealing with hairloss than some of us that's the bottom line.

Yeah that's what I've said, it's an attitude thing. He doesn't care about it or at least doesn't show that he cares so he has great confidence which has obviously sparked his career ($$$) & ability to get girls. That doesn't make him any prettier though, so if he has some issues (lacks social skills, has problems dealing with hairloss) he isn't going to succeed.

Thats why I usually wear a hat most of the time because I just don't feel like dealing with other peoples responses when I'm out in public. Yeah, I wish I could not be affected by what other people thought of me but I can't help but take it personally when people react negatively to me in public situations because it is just plain humiliating. So yes Slowburn, it has had a tremendously negative impact on my personality. I could never join a dating site because of this.

If your answer is no, I suggest you make a bit of an effort to socialise. If your social circle lacks girls that are suitable for you, try another group of friends.

I have a social circle with decent amount of girls in it, but my problem is that my head is stuck in the sand and I live in a cuckoo land at the moment.

HP, I agree with you. I am sure if a hot model has choice between the bald Joey and the Joey with all that hair, they would prefer Joey with all that hair. So my point is even if Joey is famous, most girls would tell you they would prefer Joey with a full head of hair. I know if I was Joey, I would show off a head of hair like that and would never shave it. He shaved his head for some reason I cannot remember and he realized it was so much easier to deal with a shaved head than will a full head of hair he keeps it shaved. But he does have the confidence to be bald, which you seem to lack (and that was not meant to be offensive.) You have to admire him for that.

I do. But actors (and most on TV or movies) all have a confidence that most people don't have. Comfortable speaking in front of crowds and what not.

Back then they would wear a hairpiece to be on TV, just like Ted Danson did to cover up his little bald spot. With very few exceptions, a bald guy doesn't get any big roles that are non comedic.

Shaving head is definitely more acceptable now then before but it's still a high minority unless you are over 40/50 or black guys. Shaving your head when black is pretty common and many do it with full heads of hair. But black guys don't grow their hair long often at all anyway. And obviously the contrasts from short black hair to scalp is pretty unnoticeable.

I didn't bring him up. Others did. I have noticed his head before because it looks weird. Just like Howie Mandel does.
