hi there, thank you.
There is nothing permanent in cellular pathways. Think, your DHT will increase furthermore as you age.
I have found that the number one indicator of success is not hair but something before hair regrowth. This is blood. If you see blood then you are on the right track. It might take several sessions to see blood though depending on the % of fibrosis on your thinning area.
Massage or mechanical stress your thinning area will aid results( try folding your skin at your thinning area, if you can't, then there is no good blood supply and collagen, but only fibrosis and catagen thinned hairs).
It is important to really understand what this small wounding does to your bald area.
My hair is no good theme to talk about, i hate being banned.(my hair says hi to you ;) )

Thanks a lot for your reply
Fortunately, I am on finasteride (2.5 years, no sides so far), so I hope if eventually I manage to get decent regrowth from this (I'm almost two months in), finas will block freaking DHT that might want to attack my new gains.
Cheers mate. Have a nice day (and hair)

I remember your previous post mate. You are a nw1 no doubt even before needling. You have decent skull structure and I don't think your hairline will ever be too bad.

Putting aside the loss of mild hairline gain, did needling increase your overall thickness? If so did you still keep those? Also remember you said that needling reduced your shedding. Does it still do that? Cheers mate

Yes needling did increase my overall thickness and I think I still have maintained some of that increases density on my crown - this is where I’m most diffuse.

My shedding is very periodic, when I first started it massively reduced it but now I’m going through a heavy shed phase, this usually happens around this time every year for me.

Can you say a few words about what you know or experienced regarding frequency of dermarolling?
Thanks :)
hi
yes.
the heavier the session, the more time you can wait between rolls. for some time it was once every 10 days.
the first time though i went by the book, thanks to Miss Dhurat.
Dermarolling is one approach though. We need a better model. One model with many variables getting treated at the same time.

There is also a stamp online (80 needles, square.), that makes it easier to do.

Have you seen the Chinese study carried out in 2017? I believe it's the best study we have right now. What are your thoughts? Linking it, in case you haven't seen it: https://www.docdroid.net/Q4cnC2V/101080-at-1476417220171376094.pdf#page=9

Thanks for all the info. If you avoid UV light, can dermarolling itself cause cancer? Anything you ve heard of?

So do you think its better to leave it 10 days to 2 weeks between sessions when doing 2mm with a Pen?

My hair is getting better slowly after doing it weekly....but I'm wondering from that chart if 2 weeks seems more optimal?

Owndoc recommends once a month needling for your skin, but this guys results every 7 to 10 days can't be dismissed, guess it's up to you. I used to do it a once a month years ago to get rid of forehead lines and it worked perfectly, but like i said the studies and this guy did it more frequently. Im personally doing once a week.

Just done 5th session and applied minoxidil straight after. ZERO results so far, I actually plan to get a transplant in April so should I just stop doing it now so the transplant works? Dont want to ruin the skin on my scalp

I'm new here. Just ordered the derminator 2 about a week ago after reading this thread.
I'm 52 and started thinning at the crown about 5 years ago. Noticed diffuse thinning in the front a few months ago after losing about 20 lbs through diet and exercise over the last year. I have always had thick hair up front and I kinda freaked and realized that sh*t is getting real.
Jumped on minoxidil for the first time about 6 weeks ago and purchased a 0.5 mm dermaroller a couple weeks back from a local store because that's all they had .
Instead of rolling with it, I stamp it in. I do get blood dots doing that up front.
Waiting for my derminator to arrive.
Here's may hair soaking wet
