Exactly. I know the coping mechanisms and mindsets all too well, I realized it months ago, users here never wanted to see me out of the desire to "help" or give advice, but merely to satisfy a morbid sense of curiosity, or just to be sure I was not ugly at all.

This is mainly the impression I've gotten through seeing various picture requests and "I'm sure youre not that bad" comments. They just hoped you were lying, and if this is not the case, they don't know what to do or how to deal with it.
